Biography
Norwegian journalist, resistance woman, Labor Party politician, organizational activist, Ravensbrück concentration camp prisoner, and poet who was arrested for "anti-German activity," i.e. illegal newspapers, in October 1942 and was sent to the Bredtvedt prison. She was released on 20 October 1942, but was arrested a second time on 1 June 1943.
She was transferred from Bredtvedt to the Grini prison camp on 6 June and was sent on to the Ravensbrück concentration camp on 6 October 1943. Returning from Ravensbrück with The White Buses, she was infected with typhus and admitted to Hälsingborg Epidemic Hospital on arrival in Sweden, and died there after four days on 29 April 1945 aged 45.
