The relationship between astrology and food is not a new concept: it is based on the ancient belief that all things in the universe are connected. Hundreds of years ago, alchemists – the scientists of their day – respected the divine connection between the planets and signs and nature and created tables of correlations to which astrologers still refer. I had been flirting with the idea of writing an astrological cookery book for some years when I came across a little book entitled, 'Kafka's Soup'. The author, Mark Crick, had given fourteen famous writers – Jane Austen and Homer among them - the task of writing a dinner recipe. And there it was: my epiphany.
